Eversheds names new private equity head

Richard Moulton has been named head of private equity for Eversheds, replacing Mark Spinner, who will continue to be involved in the private equity group.

Moulton will have responsibility for leading the firm’s private equity group, overseeing a team that works with clients on everything from investments to exits, said a spokesperson.

Moulton, who joined Eversheds in 2003, has more than 15 years experience in the private equity sector.  His direct clients include ECI Partners, Inflexion, CBPE Capital, Gresham and Baird Capital Partners Europe.

“The private equity market is picking up, industry wide there have been more deals to date in 2010 than in the whole of 2009 and we are seeing this increased confidence with an extremely active client base,” said Moulton, in a statement.

Meanwhile, Spinner has stepped down from the position as head of the group to become head of the wider corporate practice group. Spinner has led the group for eight years.
