TA Associates hires IR exec

TA Associates has hired Pamela Bliss Harris as vice president of investor relations, a newly created position, to focus on relationships with TA’s limited partners.

Prior to joining TA, Harris served as a senior analyst at Noble Partners, director of event-oriented investments at Sowood Capital Management, senior analyst at Harvard Management Company, and principal at Capital Resource Partners.

The position was not created for the fundraising side of the investor relations business, but to better address LP questions, said Brian Conway, managing partner at TA Associates, in an interview. TA’s managing partners are involved with fundraising activities, he said.

“We found that as a result of what has gone on the last two to three years; LPs have more questions of what’s going on in the portfolio. So we found that not just when you’re fundraising, but year round, LPs are looking for increased transparency. We brought Pam on to have someone dedicated to that effort,” said Conway.

The other members of TA’s administration team are: Thomas Alber, director and CFO; Matthew Daniels, manager of operations; Matthew Nerney, director of IT; and Marcia O'Carroll, vice president of marketing.

TA Associates is a middle market private equity firm which has invested in 400 companies and manages more than $16 billion in capital. The firm leads buyouts and minority recapitalizations in the technology, financial services, business services, healthcare and consumer industries.
