Ex-Terra Firma IR head resurfaces

Peter Hewett, who left buyout firm Terra Firma at the end of last year, has joined Strategic Value Partners as a managing director with responsibility for business development in Europe and the Middle East.

Hewett had previously served as head of investor relations at the buyout firm helmed by Guy Hands until tendering his resignation in November last year. He had joined Terra Firma in 2004, having previously served at Atlantic Pacific Capital and Morgan Stanley’s private funds group.

He has since been replaced at Terra Firma by Kamal Tabet, a former Citi banker who joined as head of investor relations in June.

At SVP, Hewett will work with the firm’s founders, Victor Khosla and Jean-Louis Lelogeais, to “expand further SVP’s already strong international investor base”, according to a statement from the firm. The firm focuses on distressed and turnaround deals, and has offices in Greenwich, London, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

Hewett said: “The distressed space is of great interest to investors, particularly in Europe which is going through its first meaningful distressed cycle.”
