Sidley Austin poaches Blackstone CCO

Blackstone compliance chief and general counsel of advisory services Joshua Rovine has rejoined law firm Sidley Austin, where he was a previously a partner from 1998 to 2002.

Having first joined Blackstone in 2003, Rovine was responsible for advising Blackstone’s clients on regulatory issues, implementing compliance programs for registered investment advisors and broker-dealers and working on the implementation of new business initiatives, according to a statement from Sidley Austin.

At Sidley, Rovine will advise clients on compliance issues and represent managers in spin-outs from financial institutions and institutional clients investing in, or co-investing alongside, hedge and private equity funds. Both Blackstone and Sidley Austin were not immediately available for further comment.

This news comes just weeks after Rahul Agarwal, Blackstone’s co-head of finance for private equity, left the group to join loan specialist asset management firm CIFC as chief financial officer.Â
