RedBird Capital CFO steps down

A former KPMG auditor will fill the role left vacant by Thomas Mastrobuoni, who left RedBird to join a San Francisco-based venture capital firm.

Thomas Mastrobuoni is leaving his post as chief financial officer of RedBird Capital, a New York- and Dallas-based private equity shop, to reportedly take on a similar role at Advance Vixeid Partners.

Advance Vixeid, a San Francisco- and New York-based venture capital firm, does not list Mastrobuoni as CFO on its website, but the move was confirmed by Mastrobuoni’s LinkedIn profile.

Following the move, Jason Young has become RedBird’s new CFO and CCO, according to the firm’s website. Young, who joined the firm earlier this June according to his LinkedIn profile, previously served as a senior manager at TPG Capital and before that was an auditor at KPMG.

As CFO and CCO, Young will be responsible for the firm’s accounting, partnership reporting and SEC compliance programs, and ensure that RedBird employees adhere to the firm’s Code of Ethics, among other duties.Â
