Resilience Capital hires general counsel

The Cleveland-based private equity firm has hired Chad Hesse, former Diebold VP, as its first legal professional.

Resilience Capital Partners has named Chad Hesse general counsel, a newly-created position, as the firm continues to expand, according to a statement.

He joins the mid-market firm from technology solutions provider Diebold, where he worked for 11 years, most recently as vice president and associate general counsel of global corporate affairs. In this role, he was the primary in-house legal resource for mergers and acquisitions activity.

At Resilience, Hesse will report to the firm’s two co-chief executive officers, Steven Rosen and Bassem Mansour.

The appointment is part of the firm’s plans to establish a legal team, after consistent growth over the last few years.

“As our firm continued to expand over the last 18 months, we saw an increasing need for a legal professional to join our internal team,” said Rosen in the statement.

Hesse’s hire comes a few weeks after the Cleveland-based firm closed its Resilience Fund IV on $350 million.

Resilience manages over $625 million for investors, which include pension funds, insurance companies and fund of funds.

The firm usually makes investments of between $10 million and $40 million in companies with North American headquarters, however, according to the firm’s website, it also invests capital into companies with global operations.
The firm was not immediately available to comment.
