Service update: Latest moves in fund admin – September 2012

Exit specialists Bluebox strengthens its team, pension funds now have access to an online asset manager network and fund administrator HedgeServ launches a Form PF reporting solution.

• The Pension Fund Service, which offers networking services to pension schemes, has launched an online database of asset managers. The service eliminates the need for pensions to conduct a more formal and time consuming manager search, the group said in a statement.

• Fund administrator HedgeServ has added a Form PF reporting solution to its offering. The service is designed to streamline GPs data gathering process and creates a report than can be filed electronically.

• Omtool, which helps clients manage paperwork, is offering a system that stores emails, faxes, and other various documents into one central database. The service converts documents into text-searchable formats (such as PDFs) that can be more easily shared by users, the group said in a statement.

• Bluebox, a recently launched advisory firm that helps prepare businesses for sale, has appointed former venture capitalist Sam Archer as an executive. Private equity firms have used the group’s services to monitor portfolio companies by having management teams report through a shared system weekly progress reports.

• Envestnet, which provides investment management, administration and performance reporting software, has teamed up with Stellar Technology Solutions, a provider of web-based platforms for non-profits and charities. Stellar, which administers more than $14 billion in assets, will use Envestnet’s automated reporting solutions to enhance its own offering.
