TSG hires Deloitte partner for CFO role

The consumer-focused firm recruited a senior Deloitte tax partner to oversee its finance and compliance functions.

TSG Consumer Partners appointed Wallace Wertsch as chief financial officer and chief compliance officer.

Wertsch joins the firm’s San Francisco office after a 35 year stint at Big Four accounting and audit firm Deloitte, where he served as a senior partner in their tax practice. While there he helped perform due diligence, investment structuring, tax planning, and compliance-related services for a variety of private equity firms, including TSG since its inception in 1987, according to his biography on TSG’s website.

The chief compliance officer role – which TSG is required to designate as a registered investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission – previously fell on TSG president Jamie O'Hara, according to a regulatory filing submitted in March.

TSG, which has some $2.9 billion assets under management, invests in food, beverage, restaurant, beauty, personal care, household and other consumer brand sectors.

A spokesperson for TSG did not return a request for comment by press time.Â
