Victory Park Capital names first COO

Victory Park Capital (VPC) has appointed Jordan Allen as principal and chief operating officer, a new position, effective this month.

Allen previously acted as co-head of North America, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Man Investments USA, a London-listed asset management firm. Prior to that, he served as president and partner of hedge fund group HFR Asset Management from 2003 to 2009.

The appointment of Allen is not VPC’s only connection to the Man group. In 2008, VPC was backed by the hedge fund-seeding business at FRM, Man’s fund of hedge funds business that it acquired last year.

“As our business continues to experience growth, so do the needs of our infrastructure and the scope and responsibilities of our management team,” said VPC managing partner Richard Levy in a statement. “[Allen] will add an additional layer of depth by building upon the already strong foundation we have in place for our daily operations and identifying further efficiencies to support our growth.”

Victory Park is a Chicago-based investor in small cap and mid-market companies.
