Welcome to the Private Funds CFO New York Forum 2024

Even though 2024 has just begun, we are anticipating both strong growth and development in private markets.

As we kick off the new year, many firms are navigating how to comply with the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s new Private Fund Adviser Rules and managing current fundraising and economic environments. They are also managing tasks like working with increasingly sophisticated investors, deploying innovative technologies to increase operational efficiency (including artificial intelligence) and preparing for the outcome of the presidential election.

With these current events and the overall evolution in private markets, CFOs and COOs have continued to expand their roles and have an even greater presence across many firm initiatives outside of the ‘back office’ or finance departments.

As a result, the Private Funds CFO Network is adapting to meet yours and your peers’ needs as roles and responsibilities continue to evolve.

Inside this special edition magazine, you’ll find articles on important issues affecting the CFO and COO communities, which include leading fund finance duties and managing cybersecurity efforts, to name just a few.

On the second day of the Forum, we will host a panel featuring some of the 2024 New Faces of Finance honorees. This group was selected via peer nominations and curated by Private Funds CFO magazine to honor a robust group that is making an impact in the industry. These young professionals will take the stage to talk about their careers thus far and what it takes to be a leader among their peers today.
