Advent promotes 18

The global private equity firm has promoted a slew of executives, including founders of its Mexico City and Sao Paolo offices to managing partners.

Private equity firm Advent International has promoted 18 members of the firm in the US, Latin America and Europe, including three to managing partner.

Promotions to managing partner include Fred Wakeman, London-based head of Advent’s global technology, media and telecom team. Before joining Advent in 1998, he was a director in GE Capital’s equity capital group.

In Latin America, Alfredo Alfaro and Patrice Etlin were promoted to managing partner. Alfaro joined Advent in 1996 and is a founding partner of the firm’s Mexico City office. He previously spent 14 years at Mexican bank Grupo Financiero Probursa, where he became a senior investment officer in the bank’s private equity group. Etlin launched Advent’s investment activities in Brazil in 1997 before which he was a partner at International Venture Partners in São Paulo.

Advent promoted seven executives to partner: Luiz Antonio Alves in Brazil, Ronald Ayles and Ranjan Sen in Frankfurt, Filippo de Vecchi in Milan, Stephen Hoffmeister in Boston, Monika Morali-Efinowicz in Warsaw and Luis Solorzano in Mexico.

Other promotions include four to director and four to assistant director.
