Alter Domus expands fund admin to France

• Consulting and advisory firm Kinetic Partners is offering a global background checking service. Kinetic can background check a fund manager’s chief executive officers, portfolio managers / chief investment officers, chief operating officers, chief financial officers or independent fund directors. The scope of background checks will include criminal, education, employment, credit and civil checks amongst other areas and the scope will vary according to location of that individual and the firm. 

• iLEVEL, the cloud-based software provider, announced the opening of an office in London.

• NewOak Advisors, the valuation and risk advisory arm of NewOak Capital, announced the formation of an alliance with Smith Regulatory Strategies, a Washington DC-based consulting firm specializing in financial services risk management and regulatory compliance.

• Alter Domus, a fund administration and corporate services company dedicated to private equity and real estate firms, has expanded its fund administration business to France.

• Investec Specialist Bank has hired Joanna Turney to its Growth & Acquisition Finance team. Reporting to Ed Cottrell, head of the Growth & Acquisition Finance team Turney joins Investec from Royal Bank of Scotland where she has worked since 2008. Most recently she worked as associate director in the Leveraged Finance team.

• BNY Mellon has appointed Eamon Burns as its new regional head of Private Equity Accounting for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) within the company’s asset servicing business. He joins from State Street and will lead BNY Mellon’s team in Dublin and Luxembourg, servicing private equity administration clients throughout the EMEA region.

• Chris Leach has joined First Avenue, a private placement agent and investment advisory, as a London-based partner and co-head of international sales. He previously was with Park Hill Group as a managing principal and senior coverage officer for Europe and Asia.

• Praesidian Capital, a senior and subordinated debt provider, promoted Alex Massimo from analyst to associate and hired Thomas O’Donnell as an analyst. O’Donnell was previously an Analyst in U.S. Institutional Equity Sales with Nomura Securities International. 

• Accordion Partners, the New York-based private equity consulting firm, has appointed Hal Polleyas a director. Prior to joining Accordion, Hal was head of finance for MDx Medical, a private equity-backed healthcare IT company.

• Dilip Awtani has joined Houlihan Lokey, as a London-based managing director focusing on intermediating illiquid financial assets. He previously was with Colony Capital as a managing director and head of European distressed loan, debt and structured product investments.
