Atlantic-Pacific hires direct private placements partner

Placement agent Atlantic-Pacific Capital has hired Christian Voss, formerly of Cantor Fitzgerald, as a partner in the direct private placements group, where he will focus on sourcing, structuring and execution. 

Voss was formerly head of private capital markets for Cantor Fitzgerald in New York and London. He joined Cantor Fitzgerald in January 2008 to establish the firm’s private capital markets business.

Voss previously served for five years as head of private debt securities for BNP Paribas Securities Corporation in New York and London. There he built a private finance team that structured domestic US and cross border privately placed financings.  Prior to his time at BNP Paribas he was director of private debt finance at Deutsche Bank in New York. 

He began his career in investment banking in 1994 at Merrill Lynch, in the debt capital markets division in New York and Hong Kong.

Atlantic-Pacific is currently raising seven funds, which have held recent closings totaling around $2 billion in capital commitments. The firm believes that private equity fundraising will recover substantially in 2010, and is trying to strengthen its bench in anticipation of increasing volumes over the next 12 months.
       
“We believe 2010 marks the economy’s revival, and correspondingly, a regeneration of the private equity industry,” Brendan Edmonds, a partner in the firm’s private funds group, said in a statement.
