Carlyle appoints HR head for MENA, EU

Annie Paydar’s promotion comes on the heels of a raft of back office promotions at Carlyle.

Global private equity firm The Carlyle Group announced Thursday it has named Annie Paydar head of human resources for the European and MENA regions.

Paydar has worked in Carlyle’s human resources department for more than five years, previously leading HR activities at the New York office. She will now be based in London.

Carlyle’s human resources team is responsible for the firm’s compensation programs, performance management, training and development, recruitment and retention, and organisational development.

Before joining Carlyle in 2004, Paydar was part of the human resources team with The Blackstone Group in New York.

Carlyle has made a number of promotions in the back office recently. Earlier this month, the firm promoted Washington-based Chris Ullman, Carlyle’s global communications chief and spokesman, to managing director, along with corporate controller Pam Bentley.
