Eight Roads appoints recruiter

Eight Roads, the proprietary investment arm of Fidelity International, has appointed former Spencer Stuart consultant Laura Atterwill as talent partner.

In the newly created role, Atterwill will be responsible for the recruitment of investment professionals at the firm and its portfolio companies.

Atterwill worked at executive recruitment agency Spencer Stuart for more than 10 years, most recently as a consultant. She focused on private equity and helped managers to hire for a range of strategies as well as introducing new advisory services for diversification, chief executive officer succession, culture and leadership assessment.

“This appointment not only supports the growth of Eight Roads but also reflects our commitment to actively support our portfolio,” said Cyrus Jilla, chief executive and president at Eight Roads.

Eight Roads mainly provides venture capital to firms in sectors such as information technology, healthcare and agriculture. Typical investments range from $2 million to $10 million, according to PEI data. The firm has made investments into a number of funds, including China-focused ClearVue Partners fund, which closed on $262 million in February 2014.
