Gen II launches automated subscription service for PE funds

The fund administrator’s new digital offering gives PE managers real-time fundraising information and enhanced analytics.

Fund administrator Gen II Fund Services has launched E-Subdocs, a solution that automates the fund subscription process for its private equity clients.

The new solution “significantly” improves the investor experience and gives PE Fund managers real-time information on their fundraising.

The paper-based subscription process can be time-intensive and error-prone, which E-Subdocs aims to replace by simplifying and streamlining the process from start to finish. E-Subdocs is a digital smart subscription form, fully integrated with e-signature, document management and tracking software.

For PE fund managers, E-Subdocs provides immediate visibility into investor activity and fundraising analytics. The solution also aims to offer both investors and PE fund managers critical technology infrastructure, higher levels of trust and greater transparency, creating a more efficient investor onboarding experience.

Gen II co-founder and CEO Steven Millner said the administrator is committed to investing in technology solutions that improve its platform.

“Given the significant levels of capital invested in the alternative investment space, automation, accuracy and transparency have never been more critical to private market fundraising,” Millner said in a press release about the launch.

This new offering comes at a time of accelerated growth for Gen II in recent years, both organically and through two acquisitions it made within the past year: first acquiring Stone Pine Accounting Services in August 2021 and then technology solutions provider Update Capital in March.

Gen II, founded in 2009, has more than $850 billion in private fund capital under administration and more than 900 employees, the firm said.
