Sixpoint hires VP for west coast LP relations – Exclusive

The boutique investment bank has also promoted three people in New York.

Sixpoint Partners has hired a vice president in its San Francisco office to oversee limited partnerships on the west coast, sister title Private Equity International has learned.

The New York-based investment bank hired Michael Leonardo from fund of hedge funds Ironwood Capital Management, where he was an associate vice president in charge of the firm’s client relationships. Earlier in his career, Leonardo advised institutional clients in BlackRock’s US wealth advisory and global client group.

Leonardo is one of two vice presidents at Sixpoint and starts his new role immediately.
Sixpoint also made three promotions in its New York office, including former associate Ben Newman who was promoted to vice president. He focuses on project management and due diligence in primary and secondary markets. He joined Sixpoint in February 2014 from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a transaction services associate, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Sean Joffe became director, having served as vice president overseeing LP relationships and sourcing LP capital in New England, the southeast and the mid-Atlantic.

Ryan Carey also became director from vice president managing relationships in the same regions. As director, Carey will source business opportunities for Sixpoint. He joined the firm in September 2013.

There are now four directors at Sixpoint and 20 professionals globally across the firm’s four domestic and international offices.
