Fund administrator 4Pines Fund Services has hired Mark Toby as a principal.

CEO Mike Trinkaus said 4Pines continues to grow and the firm needed to bring on a new partner to help the firm execute its services.

“There’s a tremendous amount of opportunity for and a greater need for fund administration, and we needed to make sure that we can continue to provide seamless service for our clients. And having someone with the background that Mark has certainly allows us to do that,” Trinkhaus said.

Toby’s experience in credit is welcome, as well, as the administrator is planning to expand into the sector, Trinkhaus said.

Toby said he plans to work closely with complex clients, as well as with the administrator’s technology and product groups to help maximize their offerings.

Before joining 4Pines, Toby was previously a principal at fund admin Gen II Fund Services. He was also a managing director at fund administrator Ophedge Investment Services, which was acquired by Citco Fund Services in 2010.

Previously, Toby was CFO of the Auspex Group, CFO/COO of Maximus Capital and was senior vice-president of accounting and operations at Fortress Investment Group. He began his career in alternative assets as assistant director at Moore Capital Management, where he oversaw all aspects of fund accounting.
