Star Mountain CCO leaves for law firm

Edward Nadel stepped down from his role as chief compliance officer to counsel clients on fund formation, transactions and regulatory matters.

US-based law firm Lowenstein Sandler named former Star Mountain Capital chief compliance officer, Edward Nadel, as senior counsel to the firm’s investment management group.

Nadel had been at Star Mountain for only six months and was also the firm’s general counsel. At Lowenstein Sandler, he will counsel clients on fund formation and structuring, fund transactions, and regulatory and compliance matters.

At Star Mountain, Nadel was responsible for all legal and compliance matters including: negotiating fund investments, ensuring compliance with, and coordinating Star Mountain’s investment adviser registration.

Star Mountain was unable to respond to a request for comment by press time.
Prior to his time at Star Mountain, Nadel was the director of alternative investments at Credit Suisse where he was responsible for the structuring and development of private equity funds, hedge funds, mutual funds, joint ventures, funds of funds and employee plans.

Nadel also acted as interim chief operating officer of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners (Credit Suisse's leveraged buyout private equity group) and supported all fund formation activities for DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, DLJ Investment Partners (mezzanine private equity), DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, Credit Suisse Strategic Partners (secondary fund of funds), as well as the fund of funds Customized Fund Investment Group.
