It's Thursday, so first up is tech: a case study on bots that process invoices.

Robo-case study

As part of our focus on robotic process automation, we spoke to Cloverlay CFO Omar Hassan about how bots are processing invoices for his firm. The case study is a good indicator of how RPA will change the jobs landscape: no humans were replaced by robots, but the humans in position were empowered to do more.

‘Your reputation is your licence to do business’

So noted one of our speakers at day one of PEI’s Investor Relations Marketing & Communications Forum. Bring on day two today. Once this morning’s invitation-only think tank is out, we will be discussing data strategies for IR with execs from TPG, The Jordan Company, Hamilton Lane and Cobalt GP. Then we’ll be jumping into the secondaries market and looking at how to access it without tarnishing LP relationships. Panel discussions are mostly off the record, but we’ll bring you some takeaways as the conference wraps.

On the subject of fund finance…

We recently noted that presenting performance data both with and without the effect of a credit line could be misleading. In this article we hear how one prominent limited partner views the exercise: “Practical challenges arise in getting these ‘adjusted’ cashflows from GPs in an easy-to-use form.”
