WATCH NOW: How are PE firms embracing tech?

In this two-minute video Simon Havers, former managing partner of Baird Capital and BVCA chairman, gives his view on the adoption of technology in PE operations.

Simon Havers, a consultant with recruitment firm Odgers Berndtson, believes that while private equity and venture capital firms have integrated tech into their portfolio value creation plans, they have been slower to bring new technology to bear on their own operations.

In this two-minute video Havers, former chairman of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and managing partner of Baird Capital, warns PE firms against the dangers of running the back office “on a shoestring”, lest it comes back to bite them. “Given the regulated nature of our business, undoing the errors you make on the admin side is a hundred times more painful than not making them in the first place,” he says.
