Weil adds partner to New York office

The New-York based law firm welcomes back Christopher Machera to focus on private equity transactions.

Weil, Gotshal & Manges  has hired Christopher Machera as a partner in the firm's private equity practice, according to a statement from the firm.  

Machera, who will be based in New York, has extensive experience representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in various transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, minority investments, and general corporate governance matters. He began his career at Weil in 2005 as an associate, and in 2011 joined  Goldman Sachs  as vice president and associate general counsel. Most recently he was a partner at Greenberg Traurig  . 

Weil's private equity practice includes large, high profile private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, family offices and other equity financial investors.
