Accordion hires inaugural commercial chief to support PE clients

EY veteran is tasked with helping to add value creation for customers.

Accordion has hired Mark Copeland as its first-ever chief commercial officer, to help the consultant drive value creation for its private equity firm clients.

Copeland was previously a partner at EY and has 26 years of professional services experience. Accordion noted that he had extensive involvement with EY’s PE account management strategies, such as personal oversight of one of the firm’s largest client relationships.

In his final role at EY, Copeland served as strategy and transactions partner for its US-West region. Accordion added that he presided over nearly 16x growth for the region over a 10-year period, reaching $1.1 billion.

Accordion is particularly keen on providing client support to CFO offices, which Copeland and Nick Leopard, the consultant’s CEO, touched on in accompanying statements.

Copeland holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from East Carolina University, and serves on the advisory council for its College of Business. He is also a member of the board of trustees for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
