Apex hires new head of financial crime

The service provider created the new role to help bring together Guernsey businesses.

Service provider Apex Group has appointed Mark Le Page as its new head of financial crime in Guernsey.

Apex said the new position was created to help the firm bring together nine business in Guernsey, which include investment management company IP Fund Managers Guernsey, and manage staff that has almost doubled in the area.

Apex said it is working to establish itself as the fund administrator of choice in Guernsey, and Le Page’s hiring will ensure that the financial crime team, service and offering is best in location and is ready to grow at the same pace as the service provider’s wider business.

Le Page has extensive industry and regulatory knowledge. Before joining Apex he was a director of regulatory consulting at Kroll. He spent 16 years at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, most recently as deputy director. Le Page was also extended assurance director at EY in Guernsey for more than three years.

Le Page will also serve on the board of Apex fund and corporate services (Guernsey) Limited as well as lead the integration of the financial crime teams.
