Apex makes compliance push into Singapore

The service provider hired a head of compliance for the region, and said it will offer four types of solutions in its new market.

Apex Group announced that it is expanding its Global Compliance Solutions business to Singapore.

The company said it offers solutions covering four categories: global compliance, which includes providing training; assistance with ESG-related compliance; support for fintechs such as digital wealth managers; and help with crypto and digital assets compliance.

There will also be collaboration between Compliance Solutions and Apex’s Corporate Solutions business, which is meant to give clients a unified offering that encompasses entity formation, regulatory compliance, bookkeeping and back-office support.

Stefan Ho

As part of its launch, the service provider announced it hired Stefan Ho as head of its compliance services for Singapore. Ho has a background in supporting independent asset managers, family offices and fintechs, Apex said. The firm noted that Ho has worked for financial institutions including DBS and Standard Chartered.

Apex’s foray comes on the heels of wrapping up its acquisition of competitor Sanne Group, which gives it new staff and locations. In an interview with Private Funds CFO, Apex Founder and CEO Peter Hughes cited ESG and private debt as areas where the firm is looking to grow in, following the deal’s closure.
