Apex names new US head

The former Hamilton Lane exec will lead the firm’s growing US business.

Global financial services firm Apex Group has hired Frederick Shaw as its US country head.

Shaw replaces Krishna Prasad, who left Apex Group in March to pursue other opportunities in the alternative investment and fintech sector. Shaw will report to Georges Archibald, chief innovation officer and regional managing director, Americas.

Before joining Apex, Shaw spent more than 12 years at Hamilton Lane, most recently as chief risk officer and global head of operations. Hamilton Lane did not respond to repeated requests for comment on Shaw’s departure.

Shaw will oversee the firm’s US business, which has more than 600 employees at 15 local offices. Archibald said Shaw’s deep understanding of technology, risk and operations make him perfectly placed to help drive the firm’s growth and strategic vision for the business.

Archibald added that the US is a strategically important geography for Apex’s continued organic growth, with new North American office openings expected in the coming months.

Apex said in a press release that in addition to strong organic growth, the firm has also recently completed the post-acquisition integration and rebrand of Greenough Consulting Group, bolstering its corporate and business services offering for funds and corporates.
