Bamboo grows fast

Executives from Bamboo Capital Partners talk about operations and new initiatives at the impact firm; USS's Russell on what ESG means to LPs.

ESG PPP: Geneva-based Bamboo Capital Partners, an impact-investment focused manager, recently launched a platform in partnership with a group of non-governmental and public sector organizations that gives access to a series of funds dedicated to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. It also recently hired a new COO, and we spoke with her, and asked the founder a few questions about the new platform, as well.

Evolving ESG measures: On the environmental, social and governance front, sister title Private Equity International spoke with David Russell, head of responsible investment at the UK’s biggest private pension. Russell provides some insight as to what LPs like USS are looking for, in terms of data and ESG due diligence. “Footprinting is just one aspect of managing climate risk,” Russell says. “It tells you where you have been, not where you are going. We encourage our managers to think more broadly in their assessment and management of this issue.”
