Law firm Akin has brought back Ira Kustin as a partner in its investment management practice.
Kustin rejoins Akin in its New York office from Paul Hastings, which he joined as a partner in 2018.
Kustin focuses his practice on the formation and operation of private investment fund vehicles, including private equity funds, credit funds and hedge funds. He also advises investment fund managers on securities law and Advisers Act compliance issues, complex fund restructurings, and fund-related conflict resolution.
He was a part of the Paul Hastings team that recently advised Brookfield Asset Management and Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions on its launch of Brookfield Infrastructure Income strategy.
Kustin is the latest in a series of additions to Akin’s investment management practice over the past year, adding partners James Munsell from Sidley Austin, Max Karpel from Lowenstein Sandler, and Patrick Dundas from Schulte Roth & Zabel.
