Kramer Levin continues private equity practice growth

The law firm brought on another attorney from K&L Gates to grow its private fund formation practice.

Kramer Levin continued growing its private equity-related practice by hiring Robert Bendiner Weiss as a partner in its investment management group, broadening its private fund formation practice.

Weiss will be based in New York and will focus on private fund formation and advising clients on private equity, credit, ESG and venture fund structures as well as transactional and regulatory matters relating to investment funds.

He joins from K&L Gates where he was counsel in the firm’s asset management and investment funds practice for nearly three years.

Weiss is the latest fund formation partner to join the firm. Fund formation partner Yasho Lahiri recently joined the firm’s investment management group.

Co-managing partners Paul Schoeman and Howard Spilko said the firm’s private equity practice has grown tremendously in recent years, so there has been a great deal of focus on bolstering related practices, including fund formation.
