Pantheon names new CFO and partners

The firm’s new finance chief previously worked at its majority owner.

Pantheon announced that Dean Maines has joined as its new CFO.

Maines previously worked for Pantheon’s majority owner, Affiliated Managers Group. Pantheon said he held roles there that included chief accounting officer, internal auditor and head of risk management.

The new finance chief was also one of four newly minted partners at the firm, with the rest being promoted internally. The others are chief human resources officer Dianne Remanous; global head of operations and head of Ireland Stephen Branagan; and head of Japan Akitoshi Yamada.

Pantheon said that 98 people were included in its annual promotion round, with nine of them being elevated to managing director.

The new managing directors include Iain Jones, who heads US institutional in investor relations and is based in San Francisco; Scott Hong, who works in investor relations and is based in Seoul; Ana Maria Zarruk, who is in investor relations and is based in Bogota; and Jeffrey Wright, who is in investor relations and is based in New York.

Others include Carlos Vilares, who is head of insurance solutions in investor relations and is based in London; Jennifer Lisbey, who is head of fund finance in operations and is based in London; Johnny Lee, who heads US legal and is based in New York; Kunal Sood, who works in primaries and is based in Hong Kong; and Victor Mayer, who works in primaries and is based in London.
