Cissie Citardi has been appointed general counsel at the US asset management firm.

US-based asset management firm PineBridge Investments has appointed Cissie Citardi as general counsel. She is based in the firm’s New York headquarters and reports to Greg Ehret, chief executive officer.

Citardi has been promoted from her current role as acting general counsel, according to a statement from PineBridge. Prior to this she served as managing director and deputy counsel at PineBridge for six years.

In her new role Citardi will oversee the firm’s global legal department and is responsible for legal matters worldwide and across asset classes, according to the statement.

It is unclear from whom Citardi is taking over the role. Rajesh Swaminathan, who has held the post of senior managing director and general counsel for more than five years, according to his LinkedIn profile, is no longer featured on the firm’s website.

PineBridge did not respond to a request for comment at press time.

Before joining PineBridge Citardi served as counsel for hedge fund manager Silver Point Capital and as an associate at law firm Shearman & Sterling.

“Cissie is a highly-regarded member of our team,” Ehret said in the statement. “She brings a wealth of legal expertise to the job that will further support our commitment to our global client base. She is uniquely able to balance legal requirements with business needs, and she exemplifies the values of our organization through collaboration, transparent decision making, and urgent execution. We are thrilled to have her in this critical role at PineBridge.”
