Cinven makes two key hires

Cinven has recruited two new faces for its portfolio support team, hiring Immo Rupf from automotive distributor Inchcape and Ivan Kwok from Bain Capital.

Based in London, Rupf will work with Cinven's portfolio companies in the UK, Asia and emerging Europe. Before joining Cinven, Rupf served with Inchcape's global executive committee and managing director of the company's Russian businesses. He previously worked as group chief financial officer for Alcoa's Asia and Latin America divisions.

Based in Hong Kong, Kwok's primary role will be to help expand Cinven's portfolio companies into Asia. Prior to Cinven, Kwok acted as senior vice president of Bain Capital's Asia portfolio group. He also worked for the Boston Consulting Group in its China, Singapore and Japan offices.

The two new appointments follow swiftly on the heels of the recruitment of Thilo Sautter from Investcorp. Sautter joined Cinven late last month to jointly lead the European firm's activities in German-speaking markets alongside Cinven partner and Frankfurt office head Bruno Schick.
