Simpson Thacher lands fund finance ‘rising star’ for London office

The new partner comes from Travers Smith, with experience in fund finance and secondaries.

Simpson Thacher has hired up-and-comer Katie McMenamin for its fund finance practice. McMenamin, who previously worked at Travers Smith, will be based in the law firm’s London office.

McMenamin’s background spans advice on both the lender and borrower sides, the firm noted. It added that she is versed in subscription lines, NAV financing, hybrid financing, GP-support debt facilities and secondaries.

Simpson Thacher touts the new partner’s rising prominence as a fund finance attorney.

It points out that McMenamin was featured in Chambers as a leading lawyer in banking and finance. In a statement, Mary Touchstone, who helms the fund finance practice, called her a “rising star” in the space.

Jason Glover, who heads the London office, said in a statement that McMenamin will work across several asset classes: private equity, secondaries, credit, infrastructure and real estate.
