Women in Fund Finance co-chair joins Coller as senior adviser

Industry veteran Dee Dee Sklar will help the secondaries GP with its credit arm.

Coller Capital announced that fund finance veteran Dee Dee Sklar has joined the firm as a senior adviser.

Sklar co-chairs Women in Fund Finance and has held business development roles with the Fund Finance Association. She is also the namesake for the FFA’s Women in Fund Finance Award.

Sklar previously worked at Wells Fargo, where she was global head of its funds subscription finance business and then vice-chair for subscription finance. Prior to that, she was with WestLB, where she served as head of financial institutions Americas and as head of its global funds finance business.

In a statement provided to Private Funds CFO, Coller said that Sklar joined in June.

The firm publicly announced her hire in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday. In its post, the firm noted that it and Sklar have “enjoyed a long relationship with her over many years.”

Coller outlined Sklar’s responsibilities in its statement, noting that she “will be supporting the [secondaries] platform broadly, with a focus on our credit business and financing activities.”

Private credit secondaries has been an emerging area of interest this year. It was a point of discussion at the FFA’s Global Symposium in February, where a panelist called it “the new hot topic” in secondaries. And Coller itself raised $1.4 billion last year for a credit secondaries fund, affiliate title Secondaries Investor previously reported (registration required).

Sklar is also joining Coller as fund finance has gained attention for use in continuation funds. Private Funds CFO reported in April on how hybrid loans and pure NAV loans are being eyed for the funds – and one of the sources who discussed their potential was Martins Marnauza, a partner at Coller.
