Apex opens new office to continue US expansion

The fund administrator also plans to double the size of its new office in Denver in the coming year

Global financial services firm Apex Group continued its US expansion by opening a new office in Denver.

The new office is led by James Wheatley, global head of operations – private equity and direct lending, and Jason Sauve, director of fund admin services. Apex plans to double its headcount in Denver in the next year. There are currently 15-20 people in the office, a spokesperson for the firm said.

The firm’s US business has more than 600 employees at 15 local offices. Apex told Private Funds CFO it plans to open two additional offices this month, but could not provide additional details.

Last month, Apex hired former Hamilton Lane chief risk officer Frederick Shaw as its US country head, replacing Krishna Prasad, who left Apex Group in March to pursue other opportunities in the alternative investment and fintech sector.

Georges Archibald, chief innovation officer and regional managing director, Americas, said in a press release that the US is a strategically important geography for Apex’s continued organic growth.

In addition to opening new offices, the firm also recently completed the post-acquisition integration and rebrand of Greenough Consulting Group, bolstering its corporate and business services offering for venture capital, private equity funds and corporates.
