Most GPs keep a relatively low profile on social media, especially if they’re facing enforcement action by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Lynn Tilton, however, has long proven she is not like most GPs.

When the SEC charged Tilton and her debt firm Patriarch Partners with defrauding investors at the end of March, she responded with her own lawsuit against the regulator in an attempt to move her case to US District Court, questioning the constitutionality of the agency’s in-house administrative proceedings. She has also taken the opportunity to issue a firestorm of tweets about the whole affair.

On her Twitter account, she describes herself as an industrialist, poet and innovator. She frequently tweets back and forth with billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban and CNBC reporter Robert Frank and recently used the platform to share a YouTube video in which she defends her firm.
