Sound Point taps former Cowen CCO for compliance post

Credit specialist Sound Point Capital Management has hired Andrea Sayago as its new chief compliance officer and associate general counsel.

She replaces Lily Wicker, who recently left to join credit specialist CIFC Asset Management as CCO and deputy general counsel.

Sayago joined Sound Point on August 17. She previously spent 17 years at Cowen Investment Management, where she served at CCO since 2011. At Cowen, she managed and administered a compliance program covering a broad range of public market and private investment strategies across six affiliated registered investment advisers.

At Sound Point, Sayago will lead the firm’s compliance team and maintain its compliance culture. She will report to general counsel Wendy Ruberti.
