ACA taps UN-PRI director for ESG post

The new hire will head up the compliance consultant’s ESG strategy and vision for Europe.

Compliance consultancy ACA Group has hired Marie Luchet in the newly created role of managing director for ESG in Europe.

Luchet will work with the firm’s ESG advisory team to support investment managers in implementing their ESG strategy and meeting their disclosure requirements.

The compliance consultant will be expanding its ESG services as the client base in the UK and EU demand different ESG services than those asked for by its US client base.

Services regarding ESG compliance are likely to be in high demand in coming years, not just because of an increase in demand for ESG investments, but because of the complexity of, and often lack of clarity, around the rules. A poll taken by consultancy EisnerAmper during a recent webinar showed, for example, that many finance professionals think the Securities and Exchange Commission’s recent proposals regarding ESG disclosures will be the hardest to implement of its recent raft of proposed regulations.

Marie Luchet

Luchet, who has more than 20 years of experience in sustainable finance, ESG research and corporate sustainability, was previously the director of Continental Europe with Principles for Responsible Investment, the global association in sustainable finance.

At UN-PRI, Luchet oversaw the design and implementation of PRI’s European strategy, which included supporting investors in implementing ESG integration practices for all types of investment strategies and asset classes, as well as tailoring go-to-market strategies for PRI’s environmental, climate, social, and governance outputs.

Prior to this, Luchet was head of responsible investment with ECOFI Investissements and as an ESG sell-side analyst with CIC Market Solutions.

This is the latest hire for ACA, which appointed Neeraj Karhade to CFO following the recently announced merger with former competitor Foreside.
