Gen II lands pair of Citco alumni for new C-suite roles

The service provider has named its first-ever operating and commercial chiefs.

Gen II Fund Services announced that it has hired a pair of former Citco Fund Services executives for two senior roles, naming Nikolaos Perros as its chief operating officer and Ishita Shah as its chief commercial officer. Both positions are new, a spokesperson told Private Funds CFO.

The new COO, the service provider said, “will oversee all aspects of global client service and M&A integration.” Meanwhile, the new commercial chief “will lead the firm’s commercial strategy through new business development and through the management of long-term relationships with key clients.”

Gen II said that Perros, who was previously Citco’s head of private equity, was involved with building its private capital global service offering. Additionally, Perros was a member of Citco’s management team.

Shah, previously Citco’s head of private equity for North America, was involved in developing its private capital platform. She also played a role in Citco’s private capital platform for Asia, Gen II added.

Gen II’s hires mark its latest leadership-related updates in recent months. In June the firm announced that co-founders Steven Millner and Steven Alecia were named for the respective inaugural titles of chief executive officer and president. In the same announcement, Gen II said it hired Matthew Luongo as chief administrative officer and Michael Pollack as head of client delivery and innovation.

In July the firm named Anne-Claire Berg as its inaugural chief people and impact officer, and in August it announced the hiring of Michael Abatemarco as its first-ever head of credit.

Last month, Citco named insider Claudia Bertolino to a modified senior private equity role: head of private equity and private credit. A spokesperson said the role was changed “to reflect the growing need to recognize private credit as its own offering.”
